BCN 2614 Computer Estimating of Construction Costs (O)

This course teaches basic computer skills needed to estimate residential and commercial projects. In the first phase of the course, students learn to create their own estimating programs using computer spreadsheets with a focus on Microsoft Excel. The second phase of the course provides skills and experience in using commercially available estimating programs with a focus on Timberline Precision Estimating. Students perform labor and material takeoffs, cost calculations, and make adjustments for general conditions, bonds, insurance, alternates, work conditions, overhead, and profit.
