Academic Warning/Deficiency/Suspension

Students shall be placed on academic notice at the end of the first term in which they have earned less than a 1.5 cumulative grade point average. Student shall be placed on academic deficiency at the end of the second consecutive term in which they have earned less than a 1.5 cumulative grade point average. Students shall be placed on academic suspension at the end of the third consecutive term in which they have earned less than a 1.5 cumulative grade point average. Only grades of A, B, C, D, F, and FN will be included in these GPA calculations.

Students who are on academic suspension will not be permitted to enroll for one term (Fall, Spring, Summer I or Summer II) following the term in which they were suspended. Students on academic suspension already registered for the upcoming term would be informed that their courses had been dropped due to their academic status.

At the end of the suspension semester the student may request readmission by completing a Request for Readmission Form. Approval requires an advisor’s signature and the signature of the Associate Dean of Educational Services, Department Chair of Instructional Advisement, Director of Student Success Services, or a Campus Provost.

Students shall be placed on academic reinstatement if their request for readmission is approved and will have a Reinstatement Hold placed on their record to prevent online registration. They will be required to see an advisor in order to register and will also be required to maintain a term GPA of 1.5 or higher for each subsequent term of enrollment. If the term GPA for any term of enrollment is below a 1.5 they will return to academic suspension status and will not be permitted to enroll for one term.
