PHI 2630 Introduction to Ethics

In this course students study standard ethical theories and principles, and methods of ethical analysis. Students utilize these to construct and critically evaluate ethical arguments. In papers and discussions, students apply ethical theories and methods to contemporary ethical issues such as human cloning, artificial intelligence, euthanasia, capital punishment, social justice, and environmental ethics. Through discussions of various ethical issues, students practice developing good ethical arguments while recognizing and avoiding fallacious ethical thinking.
