Indian River State College serves Florida’s St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River and Okeechobee counties as the region’s premier institution for higher education, emphasizing quality and accessibility at reasonable cost.

Serving over 32,000 students annually, IRSC offers Bachelor’s Degree programs, Associate in Arts Degree programs for university transfer, Associate in Science Degree and Associate in Applied Science Degrees for career education, Quick Job Training/Technical Certificates, Adult Education and programs for professional development, personal and cultural enrichment.

 

  • Over 50,000 students have graduated from IRSC throughout the College’s 50 year history, with increasingly large graduating classes. During the 2011/2012 academic year, 2,950 students earned a Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree from IRSC, marking the 10th year of record class sizes.
  • The College’s small classes, personal attention, and strong graduation rates contributed to its designation as the 12th top public regional college in the South by U.S. News & World Report
  • IRSC combines quality and convenience with reasonable tuition and has been ranked as the 5th most affordable college in the country by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Every aspect of the College focuses on student success, with One-Stop Student Services Centers, free tutoring and career planning, many opportunities for internships and applied learning, and faculty members who make teaching their top priority.

  • IRSC is leading a regional transition to a diverse knowledge-based economy attracting and supporting entrepreneurship and business success on Florida’s Research Coast, with programs that anticipate and meet workforce needs in Florida’s top industry clusters.
  • The new Brown Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is combining education in energy, nanotechnology, photonics, sustainable building design and other emerging fields with an array of business services to leverage new skills into business success. 
  • The College's Public Safety Training complex is a 50-acre learning laboratory supporting training and professional development for organizations statewide, nationally and internationally.
  • The new Thomas STEM Center will provide students with new opportunities for internships and employment in biotechnology.
