HIM 1000 Introduction to Health Information Management

In this course, students study the basic concepts related to the health care environment, the health information management professions, health care data, and health information analysis. Students learn about different kinds of health records from various areas such as ambulatory care, long term care, mental health, and acute care health records. Forms design, filing methods, and types of numbering systems are covered.
