DTE 2141L Ceramic Lab (N)

This course is the laboratory application of Ceramic Theory, emphasizing the processes and techniques required to fabricate metal-ceramic single crowns and multi-unit bridges. Students construct models with working dies; articulate models; design and wax substructures for porcelain fused to metal restorations; invest, cast, and prepare alloy for ceramic application; pre and post solder frameworks; stack porcelain emphasizing function and esthetics; build shoulder porcelain; shape bisque porcelain; stain and glaze restorations; and finish and polish metal collars. Student use metal-ceramic restoration fabricating equipment in a safe manner and practice infection control techniques.
