COM 1130 Health Communication

This course provides an introduction to human communication in the healthcare context. It examines the roles of patients, caregivers and mass media; social and cultural issues; and communication in healthcare organizations. Emphasis is on issues of social support, organizational culture, planning health promotion campaigns, and cultural conceptions of health and illness.
