CHI 2220 Intermediate Chinese I

This course teaches literary Chinese for students with a background in Elementary Chinese. Literary Chinese is the foundation for most forms of Chinese literature including fiction and non-fiction writings. It is also the written language used by all Chinese classical literature. Students study literary syntax as displayed in about 20 representative texts. Classes include discussions of the subject matter using intermediate spoken language skills. This course can be used toward the foreign language requirements for university admission.
